PCB Design Verification & Validation Report

Complete Design Verification & Validation report for an avionics multi-layer PCB per IPC-2221B and DO-254 objectives.

DVP&RPCB VerificationIPC-2221Test Report

Project brief

Design Verification and Validation (DVP&R) report for a 10-layer avionics PCB, documenting how all design requirements are verified and validated through a combination of analysis, inspection, similarity, and test methods. The report covers electrical tests, environmental qualification, EMC, and signal integrity measurements, organized to satisfy DO-254 Level C hardware verification objectives.

The report scope emphasizes verification organization and traceability. It adds no new test pass statements or certification evidence.

The engineering challenge

Show how PCB requirements are addressed by inspection, analysis, and testing while preserving issue closure evidence.

Engineering approach

  1. Map requirements to the stated electrical, environmental, EMC, and integrity checks.
  2. Organize test configurations and records against the hardware baseline.
  3. Link non-conformances, corrective changes, and verification references.

Features & capabilities

  • Electrical verification: continuity, isolation, power sequencing, functional
  • Signal integrity: eye diagram measurement at DDR4 and PCIe interfaces
  • Environmental qualification tests: temperature/altitude/humidity cycling
  • Vibration and shock tests per DO-160G Section 8 and 7 (Category S/U)
  • EMC emission and susceptibility tests per DO-160G Sections 17–22
  • IPC-2221B design rule verification: clearance, trace width, annular ring
  • Requirements traceability: each test case linked to one or more HRDs
  • Non-conformance reports (NCRs): 4 raised, closed with corrective action
